As many of you already know, I want a Flemish Giant. If you dont know what a Flemish Giant is, click here. Granted it's a blurry picture, you get the general idea. They grow to be about 20lbs and they're giant loving puppies. Up until recently my mom has been adament about saying no to the Flemish. In saying so, I believe I may have broken through her defences with these blue babies. She seems a lot more interested and has been asking about breeders. I really just wanna mark this day on the calendar and show off stupendous rabbits.

On a side note, they're not mini rexes at all. Tyr is a Dutch mix and I'm sure Loki has some lop in her. And Loki has healed up nicely and doing fine after her surgery.

Got Loki a new friend today. Another Mini Rex. His name is Tyr because in Norse mythology the god of war, Tyr, had his right hand bitten off by the giant dog Fenrir. This little guy is also missing part of his right ear, so the name fit. I'll post pics as soon as I get some.

Took Loki to the vet today to make sure everything was ok, to get her sexed and to clip her nails and show me how. She's a healthy bunny, she's a she, and I no longer fear lacerations from her nails.

I think the vet said her heartbeat was 320/min. Talk about high-strung. I got to listen to it though and that was wicked. Teeth are aligned correctly. Vet suggested I take a pic to reference in the future when I check her teeth. Damn right I'll post that pic when I get it.

She's just under two pounds. :>

Also talked about whether or not to get her fixed. If I do, there's a risk of complications during the surgery because rabbits are so small and their hearts beat so fast. If I don't get her fixed theres a risk of ovarian cancer. Thing is, to "cure" the cancer, they fix the rabbit. So my choices are, get her fixed while she's young and healthy, or let her get cancer and get her fixed while she's middle-aged and sick. Tough choice.
